When does one begin to have an identity? What does that mean for ones future? What questions does identity provoke? Is it possible not to identify with ones official identity? How does identity change? Carta di identità is a self-referential documentary short film about the transformation of a man’s identity as he moves to Italy, retracing the steps of one of his ancestors in reverse. A man who arrives in Rome as a tourist and transitions into becoming something akin to a citizen. Along the way, without seeking it, he reconnects with memories, questions, and concerns.

David and Alberto hire the services of an agency to experience parenthood. However, the actress who arrives at their home, Helena,who they recognize from a tv show, does not have the features they requested. Nevertheless, David convinces Alberto to keep her.

Helena will become the couple’s baby, and they will care for her as if she were truly their daughter, feeding her with a bottle and bathing her… Now they are what they have always wanted, a happy family. But when the session ends, Helena prepares to leave. However, the couple’s plans will lead our three protagonists to a fatal outcome.

Mercedes’ (65) most precious memory is an old improvised tape recording, the audioguide of a forgotten art piece from a museum that nobody else notices. When Mercedes hears the news that she won’t be able to recover the tapes, she must find a way to honor her husband that allows her to continue living. Stereocordis is a story about grief, about learning to live without your loved ones and the importance of building a network of support to honor the memory of those who are no longer here.
