Synopsis

Catalina just turned 35. Along with grappling with an internal crisis over what is  expected of her, she is also navigating a different kind of crisis with her recent ex husband, Román. They are locked in a dispute over the last property they still  share: an idyllic estate on the outskirts of Madrid.  

It’s a wonderful place to spend time alone, but Catalina is determined to keep it,  mainly because it’s where Julio lives. He’s one of the live-in caretakers of the estate  and has been working for Román for several years. 

Catalina and Julio met, had occasional encounters, and are now realizing that what  they’re starting to feel for each other is incompatible with their lives and their  futures. Because love can’t overcome everything, because the differences that  brought them together are the same ones that threaten what they’re building, and  because the need to love and be loved is at the heart of this small story.

Synopsis

The story of Mantra takes place in a retro-futuristic utopia where technology is not what we know and interpersonal relationships are cold and meticulous. We meet Marcos, who works for the government to alter people’s memories through déjà vues. To carry out these missions, he is given cassette tapes with detailed instructions such as where the subject will be, what Marcos must do to awaken certain memories in the subject, etc.

The tape that Marcos has been listening to for weeks is damaged halfway through the instructions. Marcos, knowing the tape by heart, is unable to remember it once it is damaged, making him unable to carry out the mission.

We meet Enrique, an operator who monitors Marcos from his laboratory through the mirror in the living room. Upon seeing what happened, he decides to lie to headquarters because he has seen something interesting in him.

In our desperate search for moments of stillness, we are overwhelmed by an unrelenting flood of noise—mental and environmental—that invades and consumes us, gradually becoming an inseparable part of who we are. How often do we yearn for silence, only to discover that it remains just beyond our grasp? This constant tension drives us to reflect, to accept that true silence is an impossible ideal. Perhaps it is in the shadows that true depth is found—where light and dark meet. Maybe, in that delicate balance, we will find the peace we so desperately chase—or perhaps, we won’t.

Synopsis

For a small town team, qualifying for the National Cup means the opportunity of playing one of the great teams from La Liga. Besides the result, just being there is a reason for celebration. 

Alberto scores the goal that puts his team in the phase draw, but he’s not as euphoric as everyone around him; he’s thinking of quitting football so he decides to skip practice the next day. A good performance against one of the top teams could be the opportunity he’s been seeking for years, but Alberto knows the sacrifice that chasing his dream means for his family, so maybe this is the time to step aside and stop relying on chance. 

When they realize this is happening, his father Manuel and his teammate Fran try to give him advice and make him look at his dilemma from a different perspective, but the ultimate decision relies only on him.

Synopsis

Emma, a 10-year-old girl, ventures into a landscape of silence and memories, clinging  to small objects and quiet rituals. In her daily life, she seeks meaning in the ordinary,  caught between innocence and a deep introspection that seems beyond her years.  Without words, Emma expresses through gestures and glances a special bond with  someone absent, whose presence is felt in every corner of her world.

This short film  explores Emma’s experience in an intimate portrait that reflects childhood’s encounter  with impermanence.

Synopsis

Li Na lives abroad, away from her family, trying to build her own future, when a call  from her li`le brother reopens old wounds. In the call, Ming reveals that he has been  alone at home for a couple of days and doesn’t know where their father is. Stunned, Li  Na feels the urgent need to help him; however, the great distance between them  means she can only support him through phone calls.  

As she tries to shield Ming from a pain she knows all too well, the uncertainty of their  father’s return sdrs something deep within her—a longing to understand him be`er  and to bridge the seemingly unbreakable distance between them.
